Our Values
Christway has been an established church since 1949. Originally called “King’s Highway Tabernacle,” the church changed it’s name in 2014. This name change symbolized other areas of growth and transition. Originally affiliated with a Pentecostal denomination, Christway embraced a reformation of theology and practice. Although now considered non-denominational, we still believe and practice an active life in the Spirit. In June of 2015, we welcomed Andy and Melinda Smith as our lead pastors.
Everything we do focuses on connections - connecting with Christ (salvation), connecting with each other (freedom), and connecting with purpose (redemption). We gather to celebrate these connections and strengthen them.
Our brand, the conversation bubble with the capital C, captures what we value most. It’s what we want to talk about. It’s what we want to build on. It’s what we want as an integral part of everything we do. The capital C stands for Christ.
“I am the Vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:5, NIV). Jesus said that He was the trunk of the tree and we are the branches. In the same line of thought, He said that we wouldn’t be able to do anything without Him.
We believe that.
We don’t ask Him to bless what we’re doing, but we ask to be joined with what Christ is already doing in our world.
It’s not Ourway. It’s Christway.
