Our Problem

We believe that abundant life is a thing to be realized, enjoyed, and celebrated. We believe it only comes from relationship with Jesus.

We all share fundamental needs for acceptance, belonging, community, and purpose. Many times we meet these needs in unhealthy ways — alcohol, sex, work, religion, drugs, money. These are our drugs of choice. In this light, addiction is not our problem — it is our solution.

Our problem is that we try to meet our core needs from sources other than a relationship with Jesus. Looking to another god is called idolatry and the fruit of idolatry is sin. Sin is not a deal-breaker, It’s simply the fruit of looking in the wrong direction.

Jesus offers the ultimate acceptance and belonging and we find community in our authentic connections with fellow-travelers. These multifaceted levels of love and life empower us to step into purpose and make a difference in our world.

Christway exists to provide solutions to our problem.
